The Song Assignment.

OKay, so for someone who doesn't like blogs, I posted on here 3 times today. Woot. Anyway, the songs I picked were all Jason Mraz Songs, which I swore I would do. Unfortunately, Jake also picked a Jason Mraz song, so I felt compelled to change my original pick for Pathos. (On a completely random note, Jake looks like Jason Mraz. Just thought I'd point that out.)

Okay, so Pathos:

"After an Afternoon" By: Jason Mraz

But there's something in the way you laugh
And it makes me feel like a child
Aspects of life they confuse me
You and your thesis amuse me
Oh, after and afternoon with you
And your rich brown eyes
Your lips and dark hair
Elbows and exposed knees tossing toward the ceiling
After an after, after an after, after an afternoon

Actually, that's not the whole song, but It's the most descriptive. I feel like the imagery he uses is meant for having the audience picture the moment. It's the reasons he's in love with this person and you feel it too. (It helps that the music is really pretty too.)

And ETHOS:

"I'll Do Anything" By: Jason Mraz

Go make your next choice be your best choice
And if you're looking for a boy with a voice, well baby I'm single
Are you in the mood for some dude, are you in the mood to be subdued
Or would you rather just mingle?
Let's get set then to go then and let us jet set we'll be like the jetsons
You can be Jane my wife. Should I marry Jane tonight?

This song is about why someone should date Jason Mraz. I'm pretty sure that it's obvious that it fulfills ethos because it is stating the qualifications of why Jason Mraz is date-able.

Finally, Logos. Hardest one ever. Also mostly because I was determined to only pick Jason Mraz's songs.

"Life is Wonderful" By: Jason Mraz

It takes a crane to build a crane
It takes two floors to make a story
It takes an egg to make a hen
It takes a hen to make an egg
There is no end to what I'm saying

It takes a thought to make a word
And it takes some words to make an action
It takes some work to make it work
It takes some good to make it hurt
It takes some bad for satisfaction

La la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la la life goes full circle
Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Al la la la la

I think this song is the closest to Logos within Jason Mraz's songs. The entire song is about how life is all connected. However, instead of telling you that straight out, the song demonstrates the "full circle" by giving examples.

And those are the songs I picked. They can be found on youtube at:

After an Afternoon (Sadly, all the videos of this song suck)

Okay. I'm going to go to bed now.

1000 Things (Yes, it's another Jason Mraz title)

Hahaha. I really like that picture. Anyways, the essay drove me crazy. At first I thought it would be the easiest thing in the world to write, but I soon figured out that after three paragraphs I had nothing to say. I really enjoy writing and try to find the good parts in every assignment, but this was a little ridiculous. Ironically, I had ended up calling my parents to help me out. My dad is extremely opinionated about practically everything and my mom subs in the attendance office at my high school sometimes, so she knows the crazy parent horror stories. In the end, it didn't help much, but it did give me a few ideas.

I like writing based on experience and things that I know. If I don't know it, I try to learn about it. So I though that if I read as many articles as I could for this essay it would help me some. It didn't. I read the same thing over and over and ended up putting a lot of fluff into my paper. I don't like fluff much. I'd rather write something that I feel is WORTH reading. I worked harder on my research than I probably needed to. I think I read through several Google pages before I checked the library's database. Note to self: next time, start with the library database. Other than that, I think the only thing I learned was how to cite sources properly. That should be useful, eventually.

Zero Percent (It's a Jason Mraz Song. Soundtrack to my life. =P)

In all reality, I didn't really want to come to college. However, since I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to commit my life to, I ended up here anyway. At first, I was going to be a music major but when I discovered that I hated my music classes and loved my Japanese class, I changed my major to Language and Cultures with a Japanese concentration. So, I'm still not completely positive what I'm doing, but I have a general idea. I'm worried that I'll have picked the wrong thing and end up wasting the money and time in going to college. The only reason I'm here is to satisfy my mom since she won't let me run off to Japan and learn the language that way. Personally, I think that it would be more effective.

I think I want to be a translator for the UN or for a private company. Being bilingual would have it's benefits no matter where I end up. I love Japanese. I love the culture, the food, the people, and just the general feel for the place. After college, I want to live there for a few years so I can be better at the language. I believe that the only way to truly become fluent in a language is to be in a place where it's the native language. Honestly, I'd rather just move there now and go to a language school, but it won't look good on my resume when I come back.

I don't really know how I feel about college in general. It's definitely better than high school. ^.^ Although, that's not really hard to achieve. I'd like to make a lot of friends, and reconnect with the friends I had when I used to live here. I'd like my life to be rooted in this area for awhile. I like Northridge way more than I ever liked Folsom, so it's wonderful to be back. Let's hope for finding a job, soon, and not failing any classes so my parents can't make me go back to Folsom. Talk about prison. (Sorry, that's not a very good joke.)

I LOVE JASON MRAZ!!!!

These are some of my favorite songs by Jason Mraz. Please enjoy the MU-zak. (It's a Jason Mraz reference that I sadly couldn't show you cause I couldn't find a link to the song.)
